Candidates for Rhinoplasty

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Saturday, March 28, 2015

Rhinoplasty, also popularly referred to as a nose job, is a procedure performed by a plastic surgeon to correct and reconstruct the shape and physical appearance of the nose, as well as to correct the anatomy and structures of the nose, and restore function lost due to respiratory impediments, such as a deviated septum. Although in the past cosmetic surgery was seen as taboo or expensive, it is now widely accepted as a popular method to improve appearance at a reasonable cost. A nose job can fix physical deformities due to physical trauma, congenital defects, or even a previously unsuccessful plastic surgery procedure. The two main types of nose jobs are closed rhinoplasty and open rhinoplasty; the best procedure for you can be determined by a qualified plastic surgeon, otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor or ENT), or maxillofacial surgeon.

During surgery, the nasal skin and soft tissue is removed, and a more aesthetically pleasing and functional nose is created. The incisions are then sutured, and a stent or package is applied to prevent movement and improper healing. A non-surgical method of performing a nose job involves injection of facial fillers to correct or modify slight defects. To determine whether or not someone is a candidate for rhinoplasty, a surgeon will evaluate their medical history, including their physical and psychological health history. Additionally, the surgeon will ask about their symptoms in the case of a nose job to restore function, past surgeries, drug use, and any allergies they may have. Psychological health history is important because it allows an Orlando plastic surgeon to know if a patient will respond and adjust well to their procedure.

General Information on Endermologie

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Wednesday, March 11, 2015

There are side effects to endermologie, although they are minimal. The side effects may include some bruising or soreness afterwards, although the actual pressure and rolling of the procedure can be a pleasurable experience, similar to a massage for most patients. Price may vary by practice, but generally, the cost of the sum of all the sessions of endermologie are comparable to a single session of liposuction. However, it is not usually covered by health insurance policies, as it is considered cosmetic. The effects of endermologie are not permanent, and the dimpled appearance of cellulite may return without monthly maintenance sessions. If you’re searching for a solution to unsightly cellulite, without the side effects of invasive surgeries or life-disrupting fad diets, endermologie is the answer! Talk to an Orlando plastic surgeon to find out if you are a candidate.

BOTOX Cosmetic is Very Easy to Administer

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Tuesday, November 04, 2014

When you receive a BOTOX Cosmetic treatment from your Orlando plastic surgeon, a substance called acetylcholine is released into your body. Acetylcholine helps temporarily reduce the muscle activity that causes wrinkles to form. The result is the reduction of the appearance of the unwanted wrinkle lines.

During your initial consultation with Dr. Arabitg, he will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to create the best treatment plan for your needs. If you are looking to reduce wrinkles in the crow’s feet area, the treatment plan will include injections into the muscle that surrounds the eye. This muscle has three areas, and the treatment has three injections per eye. To treat the area between the eyebrows, five doses of BOTOX Cosmetic are injected into two of the muscles in our forehead. These treatments are very easy to administer, and typically do not take any longer than ten minutes.
