Calf Implants

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Thursday, April 09, 2015

The calves are an area of the body that many people are unhappy with; they’re too lean, they’re too small, or they aren’t proportionate to the rest of the leg or body. Calf implants, also known as calf enlargement or augmentation, is a procedure performed to increase the size of the calf and approve the aesthetic quality of the leg. They are used to create tone and definition of the lower leg. A calf augmentation can especially be beneficial for people with stubborn calves that have not grown with exercise, or have a muscle imbalance due to a birth defect such as spina bifida, or a disease such as polio. This procedure is great for both men and women, and can create a more anatomically proportionate appearance to the leg, in a natural-looking way. It adds both mass and definition, and recovery is usually only about four to six weeks. Whether you’re an athlete, a bodybuilder, a model, or just a person who would like more defined lower legs, a calf augmentation is for you! The effects of calf implants can be even more positive when combined with other procedures like liposuction, a tummy tuck, or a butt lift. Although these procedures are not necessary, they can augment the results of the calf implant procedure. A qualified Orlando cosmetic surgeon will be able to help you understand your options, and whether or not calf implants and other procedures are right for you.

Neck Lift Surgery and Alternative Procedures

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Wednesday, February 11, 2015

If your goal is to remove excess skin from your neck, your Orlando cosmetic surgeon may recommend surgery. During this procedure, your surgeon makes an incision either under your chin or behind your ears. This incision allows him/her to access the platysma muscle in your neck. The platysma muscle is located in the chest and front of the neck on the human body, and controls your lower jaw. Your surgeon accesses this muscle to either alter or remove it. This allows for the skin around the muscle to tighten up. It is possible that this procedure is performed endoscopically, which leaves a smaller incision mark.

Another procedure that may be used to remove excess skin is liposuction. Orlando liposuction would remove excess fat found in your chin and lower neck area. Your surgeon uses a small incision to access the area in your lower face. It is important to follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions regarding care for your incisions after receiving liposuction. On the other hand, BOTOX Cosmetic injections can be used as an alternate or in conjunction to surgery. These injections help the platysma muscle relax and make the neck have a fuller appearance.

Are You a Candidate for Body Contouring?

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Saturday, December 27, 2014

Surgical body contouring will remove the excess fat and skin that remained after major weight loss, improving the shape of the support tissue underneath. When the skin lacks elasticity after major weight loss, body contouring can help. The result gives a tighter, smoother appearance, and increases elasticity. In the process of body contouring, many procedures may be performed; facelift, breast lift, tummy tuck, lower body lift, thigh lift, and upper arm lift can all contribute to the positive and dramatic results of body contouring. Additionally, the completion of all these procedures in conjunction is much safer and easier than undergoing them separately, as it eliminates the requirement for sedation and surgery for multiple occurrences across long periods of time. Because general anesthesia is needed for the procedure, it is important to discuss the risks, along with your medical history, with your Orlando cosmetic surgeon beforehand. If you’re interested in body contouring, contact Dr. Richard Arabitg to find out if you are a candidate.
