Breast Lift Surgery

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Thursday, February 26, 2015

If you are considering having a breast lift procedure done, be sure to consult with an Orlando cosmetic surgeon. You will want to ensure that your desired goal is clearly explained to your surgeon. During this initial consultation, all of your previous health information, as well as other important background history, is collected. Between your previous history and your desired goals, your plastic surgeon will explain to you how he/she will help you reach satisfaction.  He/she should also explicitly explain what will happen during the breast lift procedure. It is important that you are educated and very comfortable with the whole process.

The breast lift procedure itself is fairly quick—it typically only takes about three hours to perform. Breast lifts are performed either in a hospital, an outpatient surgery center, or a doctor’s personal operating room. During the breast lift surgery, the plastic surgeon will reposition the nipple to a higher location. In order to do so, the surgeon marks the appropriate location beforehand. The doctor will make an incision in one of three areas: around the areola, around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease, or around the areola, down the breast crease, and horizontally along the breast crease. The type of incision made is determined by the results you desire. After the incision, the breast tissue is lifted, the nipple and areola are repositioned, and any excess skin is removed.

Once the procedure is finished, your plastic surgeon will close your incision and proceed with post-operation care. The size of the scar from the incision truly varies from person to person. During your initial consultation with your surgeon, they will recommend the incisions that best fit your anatomy. Some of the incision lines from the breast lift will be hidden naturally by the shape of your breasts, but others may still be visible. All of this will be discussed with you beforehand to ensure you are pleased with the results.

Neck Lift Surgery and Alternative Procedures

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Wednesday, February 11, 2015

If your goal is to remove excess skin from your neck, your Orlando cosmetic surgeon may recommend surgery. During this procedure, your surgeon makes an incision either under your chin or behind your ears. This incision allows him/her to access the platysma muscle in your neck. The platysma muscle is located in the chest and front of the neck on the human body, and controls your lower jaw. Your surgeon accesses this muscle to either alter or remove it. This allows for the skin around the muscle to tighten up. It is possible that this procedure is performed endoscopically, which leaves a smaller incision mark.

Another procedure that may be used to remove excess skin is liposuction. Orlando liposuction would remove excess fat found in your chin and lower neck area. Your surgeon uses a small incision to access the area in your lower face. It is important to follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions regarding care for your incisions after receiving liposuction. On the other hand, BOTOX Cosmetic injections can be used as an alternate or in conjunction to surgery. These injections help the platysma muscle relax and make the neck have a fuller appearance.

Liposuction can Treat some Medical Conditions

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Monday, January 12, 2015

With Orlando Liposuction, you can look incredible, enhance your confidence, achieve your dream appearance, feel more comfortable in your own skin, give yourself a tighter, more toned body, target problem areas, and even be perceived more positive by others. Although it is not used to reduce body weight, it results in a dramatic and youthful reshaping of the body. It is effective on both men and women, and can even treat some medical conditions. Benign tumors, also known as lipomas, gynecomastia (male breast enlargement), lipodystrophy (fat metabolism problems), excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis in the underarm area, and more can be treated with liposuction. However, liposuction cannot treat obesity, stretch marks, or cellulite. The skin is generally not tightened through cellulite, but can tighten over time. The fatty areas removed by liposuction can reappear if weight is gained after the Orlando plastic surgery, although the results of the surgery are immediately and dramatically noticeable. Full positive effects of the surgery can continue to develop over several weeks or months afterwards.

Are You a Candidate for Body Contouring?

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Saturday, December 27, 2014

Surgical body contouring will remove the excess fat and skin that remained after major weight loss, improving the shape of the support tissue underneath. When the skin lacks elasticity after major weight loss, body contouring can help. The result gives a tighter, smoother appearance, and increases elasticity. In the process of body contouring, many procedures may be performed; facelift, breast lift, tummy tuck, lower body lift, thigh lift, and upper arm lift can all contribute to the positive and dramatic results of body contouring. Additionally, the completion of all these procedures in conjunction is much safer and easier than undergoing them separately, as it eliminates the requirement for sedation and surgery for multiple occurrences across long periods of time. Because general anesthesia is needed for the procedure, it is important to discuss the risks, along with your medical history, with your Orlando cosmetic surgeon beforehand. If you’re interested in body contouring, contact Dr. Richard Arabitg to find out if you are a candidate.

Brazilian Butt Lift

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Tuesday, October 14, 2014
The Brazilian butt lift has grown rapidly in popularity recently, with celebrities praising the procedure regularly. Although the buttocks can be augmented through insertion of implants, the Brazilian butt lift has greater results for healing, permanence, and safety. The complication rate for Brazilian butt lifts are extremely low when compared with traditional implants. If performed well, the results of the Brazilian butt lift can last even after dramatic weight loss. This is because your natural body fat can heal and form much more successfully to the buttocks area than an artificial implant. When it comes to buttocks augmentation, you can trust Dr. Arabitg’s passion for surgery and eye for detail. With double board certification and years of experience, he will make sure that you achieve your desired results, while striving to maintain your health and safety throughout and after the procedure. Although recovery time and post-operative can last up to six weeks, it is only required to refrain from directly sitting on the buttocks for about three weeks. A compression garment may be worn in order to control swelling and maintain shape. Normal activities can usually be resumed around four weeks after the procedure.

The Perfect Candidate for a Chin Implant

Dr. Richard Arabitg,MD - Friday, September 26, 2014

One of the services that Plastic Surgery Central Florida provides is a chin implant. Chin implants, also known as mentoplasty or genioplasty, are performed to make the chin longer or bigger to balance the face when comparing it to other facial features. There are different reasons for a patient to want a chin implant, but there are certain qualities that make up the perfect candidate to receive one.

Although there are many patients who may desire a chin implant, not every patient will be able to receive one. A patient must have a normal dental bite and teeth function in order to be considered a candidate for a chin implant. The candidate must have a small or receding chin, a chin that may seem disproportional to other facial features, or a desire to increase chin prominence. It is also important for a candidate to have a well-functioning immune system so that there is low risk of infection after the surgery. If a patient meets all three of these requirements, they may be the perfect candidate for a chin implant.
